Game Review

I will be reviewing the game Fifa 14 and I will discuss what I think about the game and my experience playing the game. The main type of option I used was ‘Be a Pro’. This is a setting where you create a player and you play for football clubs and try to achieve targets set by the manager by the end of the season while also having targets for 5 games which you have to achieve and reach by the five games. While in ‘Be a Pro’ it gives you chances to upgrade your player and get a higher overall and get traits which allow your player to do certain things such as ‘Diving headers’ which can make your overall higher and doing this will make you more known by bigger clubs and will eventually sign you and then this will give you better chance of improving your overall. While trying to improve your player you also have to make sure that you are winning games to avoid relegation for your club and if you do not play well and do not reach targets then your confidence will become affected by it and this will make you more likely to end up being on the bench or not even starting at all. This could then stop you improving your overall because you are not being played, so it is very important to meet the targets set by your manager in order to get lots of playing time on the pitch.

There are many other game types like FUT (football ultimate team) this is a game mode where you earn coins by playing games and receive more coins if you win. You receive card with players on and they are given an overall which can be improved by purchasing extras like contracts and training cards which can make your player increase his overall. You can also buy packs which contain different overalls such as Bronze, Silver and Gold which contain different overalls depending on the level. This can be very addictive for some people and can even make people become completely submerged in trying to create the best team, which is why this is such a popular game mode due to the competiveness it can bring out in people and how it makes people want to have and own the best team in the world as well as having millions of coins to make sure that there team never stops getting better.

There is also a game mode called 'manager mode' this is a mode which as it says, is where you can manage a football team of your choice and you can play as the team so it'll be like playing a normal game or you can simulate it so that your choice in who starts will depend if you win, lose or draw and because it is simulated against the computer then sometimes just like real football there are always little suppresses and disappointments in some of the results. You also have the chance to become the best manager and get to the highest and most famous clubs in the football world, but you must be aware that if you don't meet the teams expectations then you may be fired from the club and then you'll have to sign for a much lower leagued club which can effect on how long it can take to reach targets (manage the national side).  This game mode has been part of Fifa for many years and has become very successful in the eyes of Fifa players due to it being a major part of football it gives people a small insight in to what the manager has to go through and the pressure that they have to handle. Many people believe that being a manager is easy but this game mode as it becomes better and better each year with more detail and information that managers actually have to deal with makes people realize that it's a lot harder than it looks.

The normal game modes where the player can just start the game and then go straight into a game where he can pick all the details and what team he is going to play as and also what team he is going to face. This is a good game mode for people who are new to the game and wish to become better at it or it can be used to test out new celebrations or tricks in game situations that you can't do in other ones. There is a game mode called the 'arena' where players can learn new skills and can also practice set pieces or learn/practice the best technique on how to score free kicks or how long to hold the shoot button for penalties as well as being able to practice corners and able to defend corners as well. It also gives you the setting to attack or even defend a break away on goal so you know exactly what to do if that happens to you.

Overall there are many improvements from Fifa 13 which have been improved or just generally fixed which has made this Fifa an enjoyable game to play. Although there are some things that could be improved for Fifa 15 which will look to be a massive improvement on the next gen consoles.
