Human Computer Interface (HCI)

How many ways can a player interface with a game?
– Well there are many games which are on different interfaces like Call of Duty which is on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and smartphone. But the game itself on smartphone is different to what’s on console and pc. Call of Duty on console and pc can obtain the best graphics which can make the game more enjoyable feel better for the player. But on the mobile version they sometimes just put the zombies on or as it’s called on advanced warfare ‘exo- Survival’. This has caused for people using smart devises to be able to enjoy the new updated zombie mode. The Consoles and the pc gamers can enjoy more of Call of Duty advanced warfare because they have a campaign and online options as well as the option to play ‘Exo – Survival’ too so this means that console and pc users get more with the game and get a better deal but the smart phones users can enjoy the basic call of duty with just getting exo survival. Consoles and pc are able to better their graphics a lot quicker than smartphones due to size and so this again is why smartphones get smaller parts of call of duty and so they only get exo – survival. The experience for the player changes as the controls for the different HCIS and because of this it means that there will be different buttons for the players to get used to where on Xbox one shoot will be RT, on PlayStation shoot will be R2, Pc could be spacebar but usually it’s left or right mouse And for smartphone it will be tapping the screen.

Another game which can be on all HCIS is F1 games which is compatible with all of the devises, they again would be different compared to the smartphone which wouldn’t be able to have online racing where on the consoles and pc you would and as well as having the offline racing which would be available on the smartphone and that’s probably the only option available. The F1 game series has been known for its multiplatforming games where all device users can have access. This can sometimes be a difficult challenge for developers because of the difference of controls for the consoles and pc and to smartphones. Although smart phones don’t get the best quality for the game it’s still a good playable game and enjoyable. The Xbox, PlayStation and PC all have great graphics and make the game look and feel how it should make gamers feel immersed into the race and feel like there actually the racing driver and so the player would like the game better and spend more time playing which could mean that they would buy the new release and then your company would earn more money by doing this.

Games like Civilization which are on PC and Xbox would have to consider the button difference as well as graphic difference due to it being released on Xbox 360 which does not have the best graphics compared to PC which would be able to sustain a larger and better graphics so there would be a visual differences if you compared them. The online would also be slightly different if you were to compare it to the Xbox version and the pc version due the Xbox having a smaller number of people being able to be in the game where as pc can have more because it has more dlc’s so that means it has more playable civilizations and so it can be more interesting.  The online player turns would also be different because of the online system which is different on Xbox than PC so it again would be the same game but just different set-up. This game is not available for the PC and I don’t think it is available for PlayStation. The game civilization is a strategy type game where you must build a civilization that will be able stand the test of time and be able to survive through war and other means of destruction. There are about 5 to 7 ways to win in a civilization game and more were added as part of a dlc so this is why I’m unsure on how many ways you can win, this game is also good for learning history of historic names of cities as well as world leaders that were famous and provided great ruler ship. Civilization is also one of the many top games to have won game of the year and then releasing a new version with updates to celebrate it and that is the one I got.
