Black Jack Game Sound Planning

Information – My game is about a black jack game which is set in the 1930’s and so the themes will be based around this time. The voices recorded will be 1930’s based as well as the music which will
MusicI would need sound effects for the game like background music for the game and eventually sound effects for in game like cards shuffling and the sound of people coughing. You’d also need sounds of cards being dealt to. I will need to create the atmosphere that my game is set in, such as a gangster type feel to it so it would be tense but at the same time it would be jokey.

Legal Consideration Would need to make sure it was not copyrighted and so then you would not be sued by the artist. Loyalty free music is better because you cannot be sued and so you could save money and a court case. You could get someone who is trying to get noticed in the music industry to do the music for your game and you just give them credit and this would be cheaper to do.

Sound – the sound will be a stereo and mono sound which can be changed for different devices. So the sound will need to be changed for this to happen. Production planning: The music will give and soft and chilling sense to it and will keep the player calm and feel like they’re in the 1930’s. There will be some sound effects such as coughing and sayings when you lose and win rounds. Naming conventions: The sounds will be saved as basic file names so no confusion is created with file names such ‘cough’ and so there can it’ll be easy to distinguish which sound is which. Quality assurance: To make sure the sound is definitely saved it will be backed up onto another file and so this will stop us from losing the data and not being able to get it back, so it is important to make sure the files are saved multiple times. Audio storyboard: We will have a few different songs playing that are from or in the style of 1930’s music and then I’ll add in noises from players in after so to make sure the music quite enough to hear but not too distracting. Sample rate: To capture the sounds for our game like the coughing and card sounds, we would use a microphone such as the shotgun mic. File Storage: WAV.

Logo Concepts –

This is one of the ideas I had for the final Logo I was going to use for my game but I had developed a slightly different Logo which I used for my final one which is the same colour but different layout.
There are different colours I used to see if it would work but I decided to go with my original colour and hat placing.

Sounds -
These are the sounds I will have in my game and some of these I have recorded myself others I have borrowed of other people but will give them credit for the song so I do not get copyrighted. I have also added all the current sounds in the game so it will work in the game. This will also give credit to the owner of the music (edit), I’ll put an annotation in the game which will let the player know where the sound game from so there can be no copyright infringement.
